20 January 2009, a day that will live in history

This day is the Inaugural day of Barack Obama, the forty-fourth President of the United States of America. I am not in my hometown which is just miles from Washington, DC. This is one of the few times that I wish I was at home being part of this historical day. After eight long years with George W. Bush, the United States can emerge as a rightful citizen of the world. Obama promises change, but can he bring it? I believe that he can, but I would like to see it happen.

One of my students is actually in Washington, DC right now watching Obama's Inaguration on the National Mall. I am actually very jealous of him. We talked a lot about ecomonics and politics and the shape of the world today. Mind you, he is in Advanced English level and already had gotten accepted to Northwestern University. Yes, he plans to attend college in the States! I also have another student in which I'm preparing him to attend university in Australia. I always have such high respect for these students who are going to college in a foreign language. I cannot even envision attempting something like that. It is so difficult to do that and they are so motivated and really wanting to attend college in an English speaking country.

However, right now I do not feel so motivated to write more, though I have all of these ideas bouncing around in my head. Maybe it's due to the nine-day work week before the Chinese New Year. For the New Year, I am going to HONG KONG!!!!
